Hi All Finally we have gotten ourselves a space to exhibit street and urban art in. It is small, but it is a start! The location is in Camden close to the newly opened Space 176. The space needs some work done to it, but soon we should be up and running. We plan to use the space both as an exhibition and project space for urban and street art. As well as showing the artists we feature on Blind Angle we also welcome any street and urban artists out there that would like to set up an exhibition or have a more installation type project in mind to get in touch! We hope to welcome as many as possible of you guys there in the future and we will paste more details and pictures of the space soon. On a different note....... We are very pleased to welcome French street artist and provocateur par excellence Mimi the Clown (also known as Miguel Donvez). For many years Mimi has made his strong opinions on politics and politicians, capitalism and consumerism etc felt on the streets of France. As well as being very active on the streets Mimi has also shown his works in many exhibitions and one of his prints is in the collection of the Museum of Modern Art, New York. As we sort out the pictures and details of his new works they will be displayed in the Blind Angle section here, on the Blind Angle site and on our flickr site. Here is the first batch! "Fashion My Ass (red)", Spraypaint on canvas, 58 x 117cm Price (£): 600 "Fashion My Ass (grey)", Spraypaint on canvas, 73 x 117cm Price (£): 600 "Fashion My Ass (white)", Spraypaint on canvas, 53 x 108cm Price (£): 600

;D Just to get back to your question Nu. Mimi uses his clown image in many ways - humorously, unsettling - to comment on current affairs and issues. Here are a couple of other examples Anti Nationalist poster Above two speak for them self's i think. cheers Ragnar

Mimi is a friend, so maybe I can add a few details. He always appears in public events dressed as a sad clown, with hat, make-up and red nose. He was a fake candidate at the presidential elections, he sells plastic s**t on the market, he imagines all sorts of happenings and street actions, all of them mocking our consumer capitalistic society. He says our modern world is a big circus and we're all clowns or puppets... Though denouncing and criticizing, though being politically involved, Mimi doesn't take himself seriously. I like his work. And he's such a nice guy !
