Limited Edtion art from Big Issue, by Lroy on Nov 14, 2018 8:19:19 GMT 1, Can the forum tells me why you are after that ( wrapping paper ) ? Is it a print on wrapping paper ( then I could understand but Dint Panic Posters were cheaper and great too ) or a roll a wrapping paper for gifts and/or Xmas ? I m asking that peacefully. I don’t understand the interest ... More and more tats these past years ... Kaws and Mr Andre ( this guy is a shame, he used the same character since decades now ! And what else ? He thinks that he is a Keith Haring Gaming Selling Pudding ?! ) toys, etc ... are on the top of the art parade, nothing else... Well, it’s just my opinion, nothing important nor serious. Just some lazy artist and gallerists made us, collectors , more and more childish * * because of the crisis maybe : new prints are too expensive or/and always the same things. Artists could make more money “ producing “ ( this term ?! ) little things to buy periodically....

Limited Edtion art from Big Issue, by Express Post on Nov 14, 2018 8:35:37 GMT 1, For under £40 you get a signed limited edition of 250 by David Shrigley measuring a decent 50*70cm.
When his prints prices average in the thousands, and are of a similar size, the Big Issue Ltd Ed Shrigley represents great value.

Limited Edtion art from Big Issue, by Express Post on Nov 14, 2018 8:47:01 GMT 1, They are all still wrapping paper, so the paper quality is still lower than print stock.

Limited Edtion art from Big Issue, by brit invasion on Nov 14, 2018 14:06:57 GMT 1, It was similar last year with Eine's Scary, occasionally that popped up. I think there might be a trickle of the Shrigleys, in small numbers.

Limited Edtion art from Big Issue, by chuckle on Nov 14, 2018 16:24:02 GMT 1, My Shrigley has arrived. As you’d expect the paper is relatively thin, put the printing is nice and clear. Plus a lovely signature in black marker on the front. It will frame up well and you won’t care too much that it’s not on 400gsm paper.

Limited Edtion art from Big Issue, by Deleted on Nov 15, 2018 13:16:35 GMT 1, Mine arrived today. Paper's fairly thin, obviously, though thicker than most wrapping paper. Nicely printed. Fits perfectly in an off-the-shelf frame. Very happy with it for £39.
Bought the Nick Smith one too, which is unlikely to stay on the wall beyond Christmas, but still a fun image.

Limited Edtion art from Big Issue, by Deleted on Nov 15, 2018 16:05:36 GMT 1, Dont understand the furore over this. Besides everybody’s opinion at the end of the day its a bit of bloody wrapping paper. Regardless of a signature or whatever. Not for me dont see the point. Just my opinion not knocking anyone elses. Just how I feel about it. No furore at all. It's a large Shrigley image, signed, for a low price and the purchase benefits the homeless.
It's sold as wrapping paper but it's basically a poster (it's not sold on a roll) and framed up it looks great. For those of us who like Shrigley but don't have thousands to spend on a print, it's a fun, inexpensive way to get a signed work. That's all there is to it.

Limited Edtion art from Big Issue, by doyle on Nov 15, 2018 21:36:02 GMT 1, I really like the image. It's quite hypnotic, and after an iron,😄 looks slightly less Op-Art. I have no problem it being wrapping paper as I think the paper is quite sturdy and not flimsy or thin at all.

Limited Edtion art from Big Issue, by warwolf on Nov 15, 2018 23:37:50 GMT 1, Aren't most prints "A bit of bloody paper with a signature?" Yes they are, but this isn’t a print is it. The clue is in the title “Wrapping Paper” and thats exactly what it is. I understand selling it as wrapping paper unsigned for use as wrapping paper but if you are gonna sell it to hang on the wall as they are advertising, why not print some as posters uncreased and sell them signed for £39. That I understand.
That's what they did with the Nick Smith ones, came rolled 👍

Limited Edtion art from Big Issue, by Express Post on Nov 15, 2018 23:51:57 GMT 1, End of the day, this is better stock than general wrapping paper and can be considered poster stock. Uncreased, signed and limited to 250 pieces by David Shrigley. We're all adults. You make the call whether you think it is worth buying or not. No one has put a gun to anyone's head.
