Martin Whatson new release , by Chelsea Trader on Mar 30, 2018 9:55:24 GMT 1, I can see lot's of his new print on eBay already, most are from USA, surely Graffiti can stop these and give someone else a chance.

Martin Whatson new release , by robalb on Mar 30, 2018 10:43:12 GMT 1, GP have cancelled around 25 orders.
I believe many related to a โbackdoorโ which allowed some to get around part of the checkout process.
Well done GP!

Martin Whatson new release , by Art Fan 2011 on Mar 30, 2018 13:11:58 GMT 1, 14 been on eBay, 13 from US - says alot. Unfortunately the BOTS cannot be stopped, GP's efforts stopped some but also hindered the efforts of many "normal" buyers. Either way, demand for Martin's work seems to be stronger than ever!

Martin Whatson new release , by rosac on Mar 30, 2018 14:43:15 GMT 1, This Martin Whatson drop was worth over ยฃ100k. If GP was that bothered about BOTs maybe heโd reinvest some of that money in to new website/release page rather than changing URLโs pre drop. BOTs can be stopped

If anything lotteries make it worse.

I asked a few sellers questions over last year who i thought were in the U.S and some told me they were in the U.K but just have a U.S account for U.S buyers.

Crazy how the internet speeds are so much faster than here in the UK, we really are lagging behind when it comes to our broad band speeds - As to why they all decide to sell "sneakers" and "posters" that's anyone's guess!

Martin Whatson new release , by Masong on Mar 30, 2018 19:12:45 GMT 1, I personally think itโs not down to the US having faster internet, itโs down to us Brits having more patience when it comes to flipping. If we love to queue Iโm sure we can wait for our prints to turn up before we flip them ๐๐ผ Please take my statement with a pinch of salt ๐

Crazy how the internet speeds are so much faster than here in the UK, we really are lagging behind when it comes to our broad band speeds - As to why they all decide to sell "sneakers" and "posters" that's anyone's guess! What's the typical internet speed in the UK? I consider mine to be extremely mediocre and barely gets the job done at 100mbps. I'm also cheap so I get the lower tiered internet.

A quick "google" and it looks like average UK speed is 16.5 - many actually get less than 10! The US have a massive advantage on speed, skill plays a big part in the process though!

Martin Whatson new release , by robalb on Mar 31, 2018 8:11:30 GMT 1, This Martin Whatson drop was worth over ยฃ100k. If GP was that bothered about BOTs maybe heโd reinvest some of that money in to new website/release page rather than changing URLโs pre drop. BOTs can be stopped To some extent GPโs job is to promote the Artist and sell the art. Arguably, each will make their money irrespective of the โtechniquesโ used in the purchase.
To GPโs credit, they have taken the view the โBots and backdoorsโ created unfair competition for others and decided to cancel orders and resell the work.
In one thread, I read a โspatโ where one user made the point the โbackdoorโ was a legitimate sale and by cancelling the order a long standing Martin Whatson fan was missing out.
I personally do not subscribe to this. It would be in the interest of the Artist to grow his following as this will aid his longevity and therefore it is imperative that their is a chance his new work can end up in the hands of new fans.
In my view, real collectors will pay market value to acquire pieces missing from their collection should they miss out on the drop price.
