Selling my Sandra Chevrier canvas , by whob1 on Jan 15, 2018 7:21:28 GMT 1, Stunning piece! But does bigger always means more value? The price is far off in my opinion, maybe about 12000-14000usd on secondary marked. Its from some kind of gallery/business site?

Selling my Sandra Chevrier canvas , by Woodey1001 on Jan 15, 2018 9:05:52 GMT 1, Please don’t doctor my posts. Your not clever btw. I removed the element of speculative profit reporting and inaccurate spelling. I will revert back if you can prove beyond reasonable doubt that $30k is at least the profit margin and 'Gauranteed(sic)' is spelled correctly.
Get a life. No one asked you to edit my post. Write your own that don’t troll other people’s. Thanks.

Selling my Sandra Chevrier canvas , by cyberkid on Jan 15, 2018 11:20:20 GMT 1, Yes, but worth it. I love her works but I just bought a new house which also needs some furniture Clearly a big profit there. One that size sold for £4K I think on here a year or two ago no way i assume coa (source) is selling this size for about $22-24k

Hence selling so soon after commission? Would be nice if you'd come clean from the start. Difference between gallery and private sale pricing is usually 10 - 20% imo.

I have no doubt you do. Even gallery owners need somewhere to live. Doesn't detract from the fact you should have declared you're selling as a gallerist especially considering this same or v similar piece is available for sale in your shop.

Selling my Sandra Chevrier canvas , by portec on Jan 15, 2018 12:45:19 GMT 1, its maybe more transparent to open a "gallery account" for offering artworks... This is a private listing. That's being said, I listed the canvas in my webshop to see if it could get some traction through my clients browsing the site. I'm sure you can understand.
Art by SoW is more an "art-vertising" company (press "back to site" to see more of what we do), rather than a gallery, so I'm honestly quite surprised that It got picked up here.
Guess I have to take it as a compliment!

Selling my Sandra Chevrier canvas , by sean1397 on Jun 22, 2019 8:11:40 GMT 1, Who cares who he is (gallery or individual) or why he's selling it. It's a beautiful piece of art. I don't love many of her pieces but loved the triptych (however you spell that) and own that set.
I love this one.
Personally I don't think it's worth $37k. I think it's worth $20-25k but that's my own estimate and everyone will have their own. One of a kind art is worth whatever the buyer and seller agree too.
If I was going to buy this piece I would email Sandra and ask what she would charge to do one for me exactly as requested. She might or might not take commissions. I've done this before and some artists do and some don't. If she was willing I'd find out what these cost and offer that. (first to her and then that minus 10% here).

You might not care but with all due respect the majority of the members here DO CARE and would appreciate the common courtesy of knowing if they are buying from a private seller or a gallery. Just curious, is that always your strategy before buying something on the secondary market...contacting the artist to see if they will commission the exact piece and if so offer 10% less to seller?

No it's not always my strategy but Id rather pay the artist more than someone who bought the art recently and is flipping it. Sorry if that offends you.
