Harland Miller • Armageddon, Is it too much to ask, by Deleted on Jan 30, 2018 23:32:24 GMT 1, I think ‘flip’ refers to the speed you complete the process in. People who flip houses do it in a short period. It’s not used to describe Mr and Mrs Smith who bought their house in 1975 and sold it for a profit in 2013. It could be said that the couple ended up flipping the home 40 plus years down the road. Same meaning.
It could be said. However I’ve don’t think anyone would describe it as that. I guess we just have different definitions of the meaning of ‘flipping.’ I think mine has pre-determined purpose whilst yours is just selling an item (I guess it becomes a flip if profit is made?)

I agree with you in some sense and understand.I’m sure we live in different parts of the country or world where the meaning “flipping” might be defined a bit differently.. all in all I don’t see nothing wrong with it.

Harland Miller • Armageddon, Is it too much to ask, by hollowhills on Jan 30, 2018 23:42:20 GMT 1, Well then you and I have different opinions about the word “flipping” Your definition of flipping is not how the word is used on this forum (or anywhere else for that matter). en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flipping"Flipping is a term used primarily in the United States to describe purchasing a revenue-generating asset and quickly reselling (or "flipping") it for profit. Though flipping can apply to any asset, the term is most often applied to real estate and initial public offerings (IPOs)."
Mabey not in this forum but it clearly states in definition you provided “though flipping can be applied to any assets”

Harland Miller • Armageddon, Is it too much to ask, by Express Post on Jan 30, 2018 23:50:41 GMT 1, Let's not derail this sales thread.
The haste that which this print was made available on the secondary market before other purchased editions had been received (still waiting for mine and I was a 1st Tier purchaser) speaks volumes about the intent of the seller.
We are not dumb and know what is going on.
Now if you want to buy this print, here it is. If not, move along.

“Quickly reselling or selling for a profit” goes both ways buddy. Now you can argue all day about how you might feel about flipping but your not going to stop it.

Don’t take derailing threads away from me. I’ll be left with just wine and my thoughts....

Don’t worry I’m not deluded enough to think I can stop it. Was just interested in a discussion on your unusual definition of ‘flipping.’
Plus derailing flipping threads is a nice bonus. Anyhow enjoy your day/evening/night.

I like calling out people. If they were right/justified the first time, there wouldn't be any reason for me to.

Personally I agree with HollowHills. Maybe it’s an American interpretation of the word “flip”
Selling anything for a profit I consider a flip. Now, it could be a quick flip or it could be a long term hold and flip.

Scared people might realize you have multiple accounts and are a dirty flipping flippper?
And I chose to remove myself as an FG, which all the other current and former FG’s can attest to. But thanks for playing, buddy.

Multiple accounts, dirty flipper? Assumptions mabey? So your saying you’ve never flipped anything for a profit? I highly doubt that sir. Anyways if you want to know my IP address I’d be happy to share it with you in PM since your so infatuated on finding people that sell to make a profit and desperately need to find out if they have multiple accounts. 😂 and thanks for playing? I believe the only game your playing is with yourself.

That’s fine we might have different understandings of the word flipper but going thru your past sales thread ....You can’t say that you haven’t made a profit.

At £8000 - £10,000, yes, I don't think these "fly" off the shelf as you say. Plus VAT for UK folk, so it's getting up there. I think these newer styled prints will take some time to appreciate; they aren't the penguin series, that's for sure, but they're stunning none the less!
That being said, I remember when the penguin series sat at their respective last tiers as well, and we all know how quickly they jumped up in value!
Tough to say what will become of any artist and their works, but I for one, don't see Harland Miller "losing" value any time soon!

Harland Miller • Armageddon, Is it too much to ask, by corinthia on Feb 7, 2018 14:41:27 GMT 1, The for sale post says “big print”. Manifolds is selling the small print. Paragon Press the large or bigger version. Pricing obviously will vary accordingly.

Harland Miller • Armageddon, Is it too much to ask, by jayTown on Feb 7, 2018 22:45:54 GMT 1, There’s nothing wrong with flipping. Especially a Harland miller print. Very sought after and worth the resale value. There’s is not one member here who does not try and make a profit off their art based on market value. Anyone who says other wise is a hypocrite.
I sold my last pez at cost when I could probably have made at least 50%. Sooooooo?
