Wow that's a big statement.
Why would you consider it his best out of curiosity?

Penny - "Bubble" HPM release, by Poly Mindset on Jul 20, 2017 23:46:29 GMT 1, Love how they bait the buyer with this, "Due to unprecedented demand, we do anticipate that these works will sell out quickly, so please be sure to visit our site at the appropriate time. Good luck! " I know 'Flashpoint' took a while to sell out completely and I don't think this one is nearly as good. I know there are a few who would agree that with the addition of a gallery releasing his pieces they just seem to be too expensive. Cut out the middle man and bring back the old days when he would release them himself. Although I do appreciate much of his work I have to say this one does nothing for me, but good luck to those that go for it.

Penny - "Bubble" HPM release, by bigv on Jul 21, 2017 0:50:51 GMT 1, Gut says $800 for the regulars and $950 for the 24k gold. His previous releases with Spoke-Art were between $650 and $850 for slightly higher quantities. Break the Bank (newer version) was $750 for the regular version and $850 for the gold version (gutted I didn't get that one. If anyone wants to trade for a regular plus some cash, hit me up).

We (SPOKE) do expect these to sell out quickly, especially judging by the number of emails and calls we've received today and the fact that these are editions of 15 and 10 respectively. Will they? Who knows, but if we have any collectors unhappy that they missed out it's better to at least give them a head's up.
Working with a gallery does adds a 'middleman' to the scenario, which can of course raise prices for the collectors (or lower the profit for the artist, depending on how the pricing is restructured) but at the same time it is worth noting that working with a good gallery that supports their artists can be very beneficial for an artist's career.
SPOKE has a great reputation and a pretty large following, so by working with us we hope to bring Penny new fans, exposure, a bigger market, and more collectors which is great for him.
The costs of running three art galleries in NYC and SF, supporting our staff of 8 full time employees and running our print shop and warehouse is prohibitively expensive as I'm sure you can imagine. However, having access to those resources can be a great benefit to our artists and we greatly appreciate all our collectors who understand the harsh realities of the art world and how important it is to support the galleries that in turn help support the artists.
Anyhow, not being argumentative just wanted to give you our side of the story!

Anyhow, not being argumentative just wanted to give you our side of the story! Appreciated. Yes, I get it and I personally love your gallery and have purchased art from you in the past. I just thought it was kind of cheesy to put that out there like that but that's only one members opinion and after all it is your gallery. I think it just goes without saying that as popular as Penny is, everybody knows that it's first come first served. Regarding galleries, I understand that there is a place for them to promote, sell and grow artists. It just seems like every time I turn around there is another gallery releasing another artist work and the market to me is just becoming over-saturated. As if they are all trying to grab as much of everyone's money as fast as they can and truthfully that's what that statement made me feel like (don't miss out, be there at the right time). However, there is a positive side to this train of thought once it is recognized, it has helped me curtail my spending because if I don't make a purchase this week on some artist's release, I know there will be another one next week so I never feel like I'm missing out too badly. I hope this makes since to someone out there. No offense to you and your gallery but I would like to see more artist doing what Seen is doing because although some of his stuff is in galleries he has taken control of his own marketing and is able to get his art out to collectors at a more reasonable price through his website. I know other artists are doing this as well but it seems that Penny use to and now he's not, unless you want some custom one off piece. This is fine by all standards because it is a free market and every artist can choose how he/she wants to sell their art. I personally am leaning towards more of the direct route. Now, regarding this latest Penny release maybe I'm missing something here because I do appreciate much of his work and yes some of it hangs in my house as we speak. My preference is his more political and historically controversial subject matters ie: 'Flashpoint', 'The Special Relationship', 'Dead on the Money' etc. etc... Don't get me wrong as there are people who enjoy his more sedate pieces which is fine and this one fits right in there IMO. In the end it's just not for me. I was initially attracted to his work because I thought he was capturing something more cutting edge idealistically speaking and now maybe not so much or it just seems longer between those really in your face releases. I'm sure this release will sell out and your gallery will continue to do fine because you do put good art out there and I wish you all the best. I'm sure I'll buy another piece from you down the line, unless of course you ban me for my honesty. I would only ask you to ask Penny to turn up the heat and get back to rockin' his fans with something more cutting edge or controversial. Good luck with the release.

Penny - "Bubble" HPM release, by lecastor on Jul 21, 2017 6:27:30 GMT 1, Personally,.. I value the gallery model. They spend time to find, nurture and curate artists. Not to mention, market, sell, and build following etc,... allowing the artist to focus on being an artist.

Penny - "Bubble" HPM release, by mrizzle on Jul 21, 2017 7:27:30 GMT 1, So this is 2pm eastern? Anyone have price point?
I checked with the artist and they go on sale at 11am(PST) apparently, not 2pm. They're available directly from Spoke Art. No idea about pricing though.

About 30 mins, easy enough to pick up - being sold in the US, had these of been $'s I think they would of gone quicker. Penny just keeps getting better!

Well done on scoring a gold, my choice also

Penny - "Bubble" HPM release, by ferg on Jul 21, 2017 19:52:49 GMT 1, Got a gold - I think some people are underestimating this piece. There is some beautiful work in the female that I haven't seen from him before, with respect to the shading and dynamic feel of it. Agreed, it's 22 layers of pure Penny magic. Well done on scoring a gold, my choice also Fine commentary both its a cracker
