Art On A Postcard, by Deleted on Nov 17, 2017 11:46:39 GMT 1, Was it 4200 on hm exc bp?! Hammer. Now, I'm regretting passing on the Eduardo Terrazas They were lovely. I couldn't go any higher on them because the Micallef was so late on! It was agony in the room, like wading through treacle. Very, very cold treacle. They clearly don't spent any of their 27% on heating.

Canโt see there is one ! She was definitely on the list as was Matt Small and heโs not there either imagine if youโve paid hundreds thinking itโs Brown or Harland and itโs an unknown I know itโs for charity but I bet itโs happened.

Art On A Postcard, by nobokov on Nov 17, 2017 17:57:06 GMT 1, Strange, I'm having trouble finding the Cecily Brown piece. Canโt see there is one ! She was definitely on the list as was Matt Small and heโs not there either imagine if youโve paid hundreds thinking itโs Brown or Harland and itโs an unknown I know itโs for charity but I bet itโs happened. Yeah, it's definitely concerning. You can't really have a secret auction, if you list the names but don't actually have the artwork for sale. I'm guessing it's an oversight from them not updating the complete list, but I did see that Jean Jullien was listed a few weeks back, and is no longer on the list. Cecily Brown is a large oversight though. I'm glad it's for a good cause, otherwise I would be annoyed. I took a 50 pound punt at what I thought could've been a Cecily, but it was fun to try and guess. Also, they forgot to include Harland Miller in the original list of names, which might have brought more bidders into the event. Last year they raised 74k I think, so I wonder what happened this year to miss that mark.
Also, I wonder if it was a good idea to allow Hayden Kays to forge signatures to intentionally mislead buyers who likely enter secret auctions to purchase artwork affordably from Marquee names. It's a totally brilliant idea by Hayden Kays that comments on the art market, makes fun of the big name artists who lazily submit sub-par art to these events, but at the same time ridicules the actual event and ultimately the ones who bought those pieces. I think it hurts the organization to allow it. I wonder how much the Benjamin Murphy drawing of Hayden Kays went for.

I agree with this I listened to the start of the auction online and I heard the lottery organiser distinctly say that the artist will do the artwork in the style they normally would and that clearly hasnโt entirely been the case. They need to make sure the quoted list of artists is correct. Great though all the money raised I buy a postcard every year normally the one I most like at my budget limit rather than the one I think is Harland Miller.

Art On A Postcard, by nobokov on Nov 17, 2017 21:05:40 GMT 1, Last year they raised 74k I think, so I wonder what happened this year to miss that mark. I think they overstretched themselves this year, they've had the Art Car Boot Sale, Art on a Ukulele, Photo on a Postcard and the Secret Auction all in last few months. Yeah that makes sense. Hopefully they made enough in the other events to make up for it.

Not sure it does as his name isn't included in the list. Don't think the postcards are signed in the boxsets.

Art On A Postcard, by nobokov on Nov 30, 2017 18:21:25 GMT 1, Anyone gotten their postcard yet from the auction or heard about whether they've shipped (for those of us who requested and paid for tracking and shipping)? I sent an email but haven't heard back yet. Want to try and get it framed as a Christmas gift and the clock is ticking ... I received my tracking on the 28th, but didn't notice the email until yesterday. It's sent from 'Intern' so if it was sent, you might have overlooked it as spam.

Ditto. Getting worried about having it framed by X-mas. Did get email that shipping money was received but delay in shipping due to illness.
