I figured many of his views would be supported round these parts:
1. Increased free trade 2. Non-interventionist foreign policy(meaning, he is against the Iraq war, voted against the Iraq War resolution, and is against messing around in other countries) 3. opposed to government use of torture 4. believes the Bush administration violated the law and constitution with regard to detention of terrorist suspects 5. opposed to the draft 6. opposed to domestic surveillance 7. opposed to the War on Drugs 8. opposes federal government intervention on the internet 9. supports a drastic reduction of federal interference in the lives of citizens. 10. Is one of the leading voices against war with Iran.
you can't win by being against everything. you have to stand for something.

Obama or Edwards are my favs but Billary will probably get the nomination because she won't rock the boat too much with the special interests.
who cares anyway? president doesn't directly affect your life anyways. its just a figurehead. all politics are local.
Congress approved the war. its the senators and house members who should hang for the way things are.
Also, All Politics are NOT local ANYMORE. This is one point Ron Paul is making! He wants to revert back to constitutional law and let a lot of crap to be handled locally and by the states. For example, Gay Marriage & Abortion should not be a National debate.

Amazing that these are points to be commended, doesn't say much about the rest does it..sounds like a pro life democrat is all.

As for the war, he simply wants to transfer the power back to congress (i.e himself) and not allow the president to "authorise" war without congressional approval. He's a conservative through and through. He may sound like a libertarian next to some other candidates..but then who wouldn't.
