SOLD, by pklong17 on Feb 13, 2016 13:29:03 GMT 1, Great prices. I need to show restraint. GLWTS When you say "great prices", what have you based that on? Just curious, I find it difficult these days to know what is a fair price for both seller and buyer in what is a private sale between members of a community. Cheers
Thank you for my first forum call out. I happen to be in search of a few Banksy prints. The last Police Kids on here was £3500 in June 2015, and the only other I've seen is at Hang Up for £4500. It is my opinion that th op offer seems a good price. I just made some large purchases; therefore, I must show restraint and blow all my money this month. Cheers

The fact that they sold within a day would give an indication that the prices are good. Other members chipping in with great unsolicited feedback for the seller also helps but even the best seller in the world will struggle to sell this quickly if the price is wrong.

With all the new vip prints bringing a new type of buyer into the fold and with laz new gallery targeting set clients think by the year end unsigned prints will be the same as signed prints from the beginning of 2015 unless something drastic occurs

SOLD, by DrWhite on Feb 13, 2016 15:57:04 GMT 1, There are still a vast amount of members who insist in sending in lowball offers around 1/2 the asking prices, I've found - I never reply but I still wonder if they suceed in picking anything up at £2k ? Or are they just wasting their time & the sellers ?

Interesting thought - you suggest most people are bored with Banksy prints except those that are sold/wanted on UAA ? I would suggest a lot of the members here have long sold their Banksy prints & moved on - but I know many people believe this forum sets prices/demand for all things Banksy - I wish I hadn't sold most of mine - then I could join in the hype you speak of.

I think it all depends on what the agreed upon price was? What if it sold less than asking and the seller had the mindset to sell quickly? Not saying that it did but what if? Just playing devils advocate. Also regardless of what sold or didn't on this thread, 4.5K for a u/s bw trolleys is definitely on the higher side IMHO. I personally never saw/heard the whole part where a privately sold u/s bw trolleys climbed from 3.6 to 3.8K GBP let alone 4.5K...Could totally be wrong but just My .02.

my point is most people are bored of these prints that keep doing the rounds, and that started to happen a decade ago. Ugh! These prints are boring.
Yeah and if there was a strong enough market outside they wouldn't churn here, with so much droll/hype

Some people are obviously not bored if you look at number of sales of his prints on here, ebay, gallerys, auctions etc in the last two years let alone the last 10.

I dont have a clue how anyone can quantify / calculate "most people" but for sure some will be bored with these prints even on a Banksy forum.

SOLD, by tab1 on Feb 13, 2016 17:55:31 GMT 1, Each year from 2011 keep looking at the print prices and thinking they are expensive but since 2011 they keep almost doubling in price each year. Since 2006. Except for the stupid hype on here from people who own them and don't want to loose out....
Most new releases on here are all hype and wanted threads posted after a release fuels it then a few months later the prices drop . Part of a cycle that helps drive print sales
Dot dot dot a good example from a few years back via gp
Since 2006 when you read the old sales threads it is mostly about profit margins , The prints are not really that technically challenging or amazing but he has good pr and marketing And realistically banksy prints are seen as a investment , most that were bought last year are selling now

Tabtab - in your comment above "most that bought last year are selling now" is that Banksy art owners ? On this forum or world wide ? I don't know where this information comes from ? Most of how many total ? Is it a percentage ? This is a question out of interest I know why this OP is selling - and it is clearly at odds with these sentiments

Sorry for short dialogue , using a smartphone . People do not need to have a reason or be in fear to have to state a reason to sell their item on here , usual phrases , new kitchen , bought house etc but stated for some reason ?...in general a certain amount of people use banksy as an investment as most are not art collectors and many would not buy at these levels unless there was a return in profit to be made . Not stating all but the majority on here listed are .
And mostly referencing this forum as do not keep tabs on other sources.
