A paradox which does not escape anybody. The agents in charge of the protection of Banksy prefer to apply their duty of reserve. A heard smile, then a pout dubitative. That remains a tag, after all. ” A lady who works in the district shares this skepticism: “I prefer more classical art, I go in the museums, etc, and I do not have anything against the street art, but I find that it could have done that elsewhere. Already, it is a private wall. If the goal were to launch a message in Ofii, it could have done it on a wall of the college Republic, which is public. Moreover, since it is art, the kids could better have benefitted from it… And then it chose a wall already very tagged, it is not pretty. I would have preferred that it makes a beautiful fresco on a quite clean wall. ” Objectively, “We all are not in the same boat” is not ordinary graffiti. It is a very detailed stencil key set which not only tells a story, but delivers a political message. Moreover it is Banksy and, objectively also, that makes the price of them. Its art, illegal, supposed to escape the institution, is brought back there of force. Banksy must be the first to be smiled about it. "

Banksy under persplexity, by Deleted on Dec 31, 2015 13:23:21 GMT 1, Banksy équipe en France
It does expose the hypocrisy that if an unknown non commercial value person painted a stencil they could be prosecuted for vandalism.
All of this "street" art should be under the same law and not one law for some people and one law for others.
The value of an image of Steve Jobs is minimal.
Steve Jobs is the son of a migrant and ?
It could be read as Steve Jobs is the son of a migrant who went to the US and got a woman pregnant out of wedlock and abandoned her and his son. So not a good advert for migrants.
The newspaper takes the opportunity to jump on the bandwagon to get sales.
At the same time refusing to show the other side which is the problems that the people of Calais have to live with every day and also the crimes by migrants covered up by the media from theft sexual assault burglary and vandalism.
I guess Banksy could have done a picture of Damien Hirst's friend Camilla Batmanghelidjh if he had a big enough stencil.
Her father was a migrant too. Look him up on Wiki.
Here is Camilla the opportunist from Kids Company. (which is now being investigated by Met police)
www.theguardian.com/artanddesign/video/2014/feb/07/damien-hirst-camilla-batmanghelidjh-video-interview
regarding teh Calais migrants.
No one is forcing them to live in tents in Calais.
They have the choice to leave the area and seek refuge in other countries too.
They are migrants not refugees.
People say they have the right to improve their standard of living.
At the the UK taxpayers cost no doubt where they expect to get free house or apartment and money for life.
The Roma gypsies who moved into the centre of paris and London en masse are also improving their standard of living.
They also made a Dismaland in Paris.
I wonder what would attract them to these big cities where they live in shacks?
The honest paid jobs at restaurants and Mc Donalds and similar maybe or are they more enterprising than that?
There are two sides to every coin and an image can be interpreted in different ways.
The message Banksy makes has been lost a long time ago.
and as for solidarity.
Don't forget the people of Calais who feel they are under siege.

" Georges Lagouge was discovered happy on December 12th owner of a wall chosen by Banksy: “I am not disgruntled to have that on my candied wall” it, with a bit of mischievousness. Disgruntled, one would not be it more in his place. To recover a stencil key set of the street artist with dimensions of the moment on its wall, it is not given to everyone. When the municipality contacted it to propose to him to protect the graffiti, he did not hesitate a second more. For as much, the owner takes care well not to pack: “It is told me that I am lucky, that I will make beautiful a plusvalue on my building. But, you know, I am dubitative… I wait to have sold it to know so really there is an appreciation. ” Georges Lagouge does not live more in Calais, so that it re-examined his wall only in photograph. “I had envisaged to repaint it. I believe that I will change opinion… But seriously, work would be denatured. I believe that the artist chose this wall in particular because it allowed an effect of horn the eye. ” In terms of sale, Georges Lagouge, considers initially the entire building, but after all… “If somebody makes to me an offer for only work, I can also consider it. I know that is done, but I do not know how one can extract it from the wall. I all am willing to study which one will want to quote to me well. And I will let the purchaser find the best solution to remove it. ”

Banksy under persplexity, by Deleted on Dec 31, 2015 19:10:23 GMT 1, Poor Georges, lets hope La Mairie doesn't decide to compulsorary purchase Georges property for a small amount of money to preserve this stencil Gericault and his depiction of the Raft of the Medusa.
The painting was based on, www.louvre.fr/en/oeuvre-notices/raft-medusa
""A contemporary event
Géricault drew his inspiration from the account of two survivors of the Medusa—a French Royal Navy frigate that set sail in 1816 to colonize Senegal.
It was captained by an officer of the Ancien Régime who had not sailed for over twenty years and who ran the ship aground on a sandbank.
Due to the shortage of lifeboats, those who were left behind had to build a raft for 150 souls—a construction that drifted away on a bloody 13-day odyssey that was to save only 10 lives.
The disaster of the shipwreck was made worse by the brutality and cannibalism that ensued. ""
A stencil of , a raft with survivors of invaders who were warmly welcomed by being brutalised and cannibalised.
a great painting by a masterful artist quickly copied and turned into a stencil on a wall.
