Sorry, I can't find the Thread .., All the Banksy are under Perspex or plexi apart Steve Jobs that will be next week ! A great thing for Refugges, Banksy and art lovers, and great job to from Mme Bouchard, La Mairie de Calais et le Musée de la Dentelle ( lace - lol ) of Calais ... Thalys to NordLittoral too a local newspaper that has covered the event ( I ordered some of the first day with the fab cover )!

I am posting about Banksy+street-art+protection ( and not about K nor sale ) and nobody likes it ( where was the first thread about this stencils in Calais ? Hidden to me ? ) ...
I thought that it was a good opportunity to give news from The French coast... I don't agree too , some here are real weathervanes :
You don't protect a banksy they say WTF ! You protect the Banksy they say WTF ! They steal one Banksy, the say WTF ! District clean a banksy ( In Ukip town last year ) , the say WTF ! They tag a banksy the say WTF !
I remember that a lot likes that all the Botti stencils or graffs were under Perspex or plexi, as the Tox one and all the English ones !
Maybe some of you don't care about French as they don't care in fact about... No I stop here ( Banksy was not the hiddent answer
Anyway, Have a good New Eve all, I will be in front of my wall to inspect if there was any hidden and invisible Banksy on it, drawn with sympathetic ink...
" The least which one can say, it is that the municipality did not flunk to it stage coach concerning Banksy. Taking account of the notoriety of the artist and example of the British cities where it prevailed, the mayor Natacha Bouchart made protect the three graffiti as soon as their famous author made known himself via his website. In the urgency, it is plywood which masked them, but one can again see them behind a plate of unbreakable glass, posed by the agents of the city. Monday, Banksy of the rescue station was returned to the glances. The “Steve Jobs” of the Jungle will receive his hull the next week. Tuesday, it was with the turn of the graffiti of the street of the Tannery to be with the small care. This one had time to be diverted by another graffiti artist, but especially degraded. Somebody deleted the yacht which made the irony of this reproduction to the stencil key set of the Raft of the Jellyfish. The municipality intends to clean the tags around the work of Banksy. A paradox which does not escape anybody. The agents in charge of the protection of Banksy prefer to apply their duty of reserve. A heard smile, then a pout dubitative. One insists and they agree to make a digression: “If that had been another which had made the tag, it would have been deleted. Similar, when one is owner. If a guy makes a tag on the frontage, one gives a death rattle. But if it is this guy, one is content… I do not understand. That remains a tag, after all. ” A lady who works in the district shares this skepticism: “I prefer more classical art, I go in the museums, etc, and I do not have anything against the street art, but I find that it could have done that elsewhere. Already, it is a private wall. If the goal were to launch a message in Ofii, it could have done it on a wall of the college Republic, which is public. Moreover, since it is art, the kids could better have benefitted from it… And then it chose a wall already very tagged, it is not pretty. I would have preferred that it makes a beautiful fresco on a quite clean wall. ” Objectively, “We all are not in the same boat” is not ordinary graffiti. It is a very detailed stencil key set which not only tells a story, but delivers a political message. Moreover it is Banksy and, objectively also, that makes the price of them. Therese, who lives just above, is delighted. “Me, I find that splendid. In the first days, it was not even noticed and then, that was known, and that was a procession of people who wanted to photograph it! ” The municipality will make graffiti of the beach and street of the Tannery of the tourist points of interest. “There will be at least an effect of mode, with the beginning” estimates the assistant with the culture Pascal Pestre, with personal capacity. If it is not on a misunderstanding, the urban legend of Banksy rests at least on a paradox. Its stencil key sets offered to the street and the expression of other graffiti artists are found one by one “sanctuarized”, the expression of the assistant Emmanuel Agius is right. Its art, illegal, supposed to escape the institution, is brought back there of force. Banksy must be the first to be smiled about it. "

Banksy équipe en France
It does expose the hypocrisy that if an unknown non commercial value person painted a stencil they could be prosecuted for vandalism.
All of this "street" art should be under the same law and not one law for some people and one law for others.
The value of an image of Steve Jobs is minimal.
Steve Jobs is the son of a migrant and ?
It could be read as Steve Jobs is the son of a migrant who went to the US and got a woman pregnant out of wedlock and abandoned her and his son. So not a good advert for migrants.
The newspaper takes the opportunity to jump on the bandwagon to get sales.
At the same time refusing to show the other side which is the problems that the people of Calais have to live with every day and also the crimes by migrants covered up by the media from theft sexual assault burglary and vandalism.
I guess Banksy could have done a picture of Damien Hirst's friend Camilla Batmanghelidjh if he had a big enough stencil.
Her father was a migrant too. Look him up on Wiki.
Here is Camilla the opportunist from Kids Company. (which is now being investigated by Met police)
" Georges Lagouge was discovered happy on December 12th owner of a wall chosen by Banksy: “I am not disgruntled to have that on my candied wall” it, with a bit of mischievousness. Disgruntled, one would not be it more in his place. To recover a stencil key set of the street artist with dimensions of the moment on its wall, it is not given to everyone. When the municipality contacted it to propose to him to protect the graffiti, he did not hesitate a second more. For as much, the owner takes care well not to pack: “It is told me that I am lucky, that I will make beautiful a plusvalue on my building. But, you know, I am dubitative… I wait to have sold it to know so really there is an appreciation. ” Georges Lagouge does not live more in Calais, so that it re-examined his wall only in photograph. “I had envisaged to repaint it. I believe that I will change opinion… But seriously, work would be denatured. I believe that the artist chose this wall in particular because it allowed an effect of horn the eye. ” In terms of sale, Georges Lagouge, considers initially the entire building, but after all… “If somebody makes to me an offer for only work, I can also consider it. I know that is done, but I do not know how one can extract it from the wall. I all am willing to study which one will want to quote to me well. And I will let the purchaser find the best solution to remove it. ”
