Collection of Art at Prices to Sell, by lha on Sept 3, 2015 13:46:23 GMT 1, Are you a gallery Tommytucker? Regardless - seems a bit out of kilter to say you're selling everything at 'pretty much face value' and you're selling a Cauty riot shield with a £1000 mark up on what you paid for it a few days ago. Bad form. Tommytucker, greedy fuc......

Collection of Art at Prices to Sell, by Tommy Tucker on Sept 3, 2015 14:09:45 GMT 1, I am not working in a gallery at the moment and all of this is my personnel collection.
I think I have been more than generous to the forum members with face value on pretty much all artworks and trade prices on others. There is only one piece that is above retail and even this one is a lot less than they are selling for meaning forum members are still getting a great deal. I put this tread together as a thank you to the forum and pass on some great artwork.

Welcome to team banksy , the association and pr helps , Someone posted a link to a paco print from the dismaland show was an edition of 60 and available for quite a while , instantly sold out and now they're doing other artworks from the show . Big mark up on the shield but they seem to sell for £2-3500 on the auction site plus a few aren't from the actual show but listed as such .

Collection of Art at Prices to Sell, by Tommy Tucker on Sept 3, 2015 16:19:23 GMT 1, For those of you that did see my post the other day you will know I am currently out of work and this is the reason for the sale of my artworks. As for the shield I saw an opportunity to help me through and I took it. I'm not going to apologies if this annoys anyone as I have to support people. Not sure why I'm having to justify this sale and thought I would offer pieces on here so some forum members might be able to get artworks they want.
Thank you to those who have expressed interest in the artwork and aren't just here to criticise.

Collection of Art at Prices to Sell, by charles on Sept 3, 2015 16:46:00 GMT 1, It's sad that someone has to feel the need to confess something about their personal financial situation in order to justify any offerings of their collection. I think that everyone should refer to the forum rules (#11 in particular) before commenting on anyone's sale thread. There are other places here where these issues can be fully discussed without making things personal for someone. Everyone is free to their opinions about valuations and we are all free to choose what we wish to purchase and what we wish to avoid.

Everyone is free to their opinions about valuations and we are all free to choose what we wish to purchase and what we wish to avoid. In part I agree with you. And, in the circumstances, I personally have no issue with this seller selling what he's selling or with his prices. But, there is a long history on this forum of flipping being frowned upon. Anyone buying something with the sole purpose of making a quick profit at the expense of others (both in terms of them being unable to buy from source, and in having to pay an inflated price) has, for the years I've been a member, faced some criticism. Personally I think it would be a shame if flipping became an accepted practise here.

Others may well disagree with me. That is just my personal opinion. Thanks though.

Free market , you paid , your choice , always a few internet warriors here .. If all these pieces in general went to collectors no one would have a chance to get pieces as they generally keep long term and collectors demand far higher prices than flippers to tempt them to sell, take a look at the banksy market at the moment . Nothing is ever going to change these sales and wasted anger and petty squabbling doesn't help far more important issues in the world to get angry over .

Collection of Art at Prices to Sell, by dodsi on Sept 3, 2015 19:54:56 GMT 1, In all fairness, anybody could buy that shield at this price and slap it straight up on ebay for a profit. I believe that piece to be all hype and little real value and to be honest the other shield that was offered up here a few days ago was a nicer thing.
Personally, fair play to OP supply and demand innit

Got to agree with this. I passed on the edition a year or so ago, when they were a £100 or so. It's strange that a new batch can appear at a mark up at Dismaland and then get flipped for an even more huge markup. . Nevertheless best of luck with the sale.

Hence what I said in the second sentence of my post. The remainder was merely a general reply to the post by Charles.
