What else to do.., by sin on Sept 3, 2015 5:35:12 GMT 1, Hey guys - Looking for some tourism guidance. Flying from the US on Friday, arriving Saturday Morning. Have tickets for Saturday at 2pm (have backups for Monday if there are delays on Saturday) Flying back out Tuesday.
So, my question. If plan A works, I have from Saturday evening - Tuesday morning to kill. If Plan A fails, I have Saturday - Monday morning to kill.
What to do?
I've been a number of spots internationally, but never to the UK (odd, I know, have always thought that I would get to it eventually). My wife and daughter have never been anywhere other than the Caribbean. So I am trying to make the most of the time.
I have a taste for adventure, prefer to not end up surrounded by tourists. As much as my wife and I love museums, we are trying to steer clear because we have taken the kid to a lifetime of museums and she'd like to do anything but.
If plan A fails, my thought was Saturday in London, Sunday in Bristol, Monday at Dismaland, get back to London for Monday night for a Tuesday afternoon departure.
If plan A succeeds, I am willing to go nuts. This could mean buying separate 1 way flights back to the US if needed, but only in an emergency.
My thoughts.
Saturday, Dismaland, sleep local. Sunday, get up early, go to Bristol, jump a plane to Paris, or Barcelona. Ive never done Paris (done the south of France but never the capital and of course the girls would love it.) Barcelona holds a special place in my heart. I spent some time there when I was a kid and it was life altering. My wife speaks spanish natively, so might be easier to navigate. Stay in that city Sunday night and Monday till the evening and try to catch the last flight back to London Monday night. Stay in London Monday night and fly out Tuesday afternoon. If I fuck up, jump a one way flight back to the US from wherever I am (and enjoy the ass raping by customs for having that fucked up uncompleted route). While I may be being a dipshit with this plan, my thought it that it takes 2 hours from Dismaland to London, why not put that 2 hours to adding an extra stamp in the ole passport and going somewhere else.
Any thoughts?

What else to do.., by Deleted on Sept 3, 2015 8:09:20 GMT 1, If youve never been to london then just go there and avoid hassle of flights to paris or barca, either of these options will add far more time to your journey than you'd imagine. Pain in arse getting through any UK airport and paris and barca not much better and both airports are a wee bit out of town. There are as many tourists in both these cities as you have in London, possibly more, feels that way if you land on any of the main tourist spots in either of these places.
I go down to London from north Scotland a couple of times a year with wife and kids and always find summit different to do, if you have never been then you and family will have great time whether Banksy, invader, street art spotting or just kicking around the place.
Mind you, Paris and Barca are great too but London is on your doorstep in comparison so thats where i'd head.

Didn't in the week I spent there. Got trench foot. 3 hour delay on the A30 for road widening on the way home. Nice.
