BANKSY Curated Show "Dismaland" in Weston-super-Mare, by mojo on Sept 8, 2015 16:58:33 GMT 1, It might make people try their hardest to acquire their own means and wealth. . [ I would say the opposite is true. If what you have will ultimately be confiscated, and what others have will ultimately be redistributed, you have no incentive to do much....and this has been empirically tried in large scale btw Also all this talk of inheriting billions accumulated through expropriation and the suffering of innocent people etc...is just stupid. Most inheritance is Average Joes who manages to pay off the mortgage and leave the crappy house / flat to their 3 kids who will sell it off, give a cut to the government, and use the remaining few cents to pay their own small debts. If you inherited something good for you, if not tough luck, life goes on With respect I don't think Banksy was referring to the average Joe's of this world that inherit their parents houses, that may well of worked hard all their lives to pay for. I would guess he was talking about the super rich who's offspring end up contributing an enormous nothing to society ...... think along the lines of the Paris Hilton's & Made in Chelsea cast as an example and the millions of others like them......and going to a pardy for chawaty doesn't count! They will never be able to comprehend what it's like to live hand to mouth whilst working a full time job to barely keep a roof over their heads. The gap between the rich and the poor is growing at an alarming rate and until our governments stop bailing out the super rich at the expense of the average earners and poor of this world it will only get much worse, and let's face it that's never going to happen in the UK with our current representatives. It's just not socially acceptable any more and needs to stop. We could start by getting rid of the House of Lords, a vile example of inequality and unjustified privilege that belongs in the dark ages.
* I appreciate there are some super wealthy that support others less fortunate than themselves although that seems to be the exception rather than the rule.

BANKSY Curated Show "Dismaland" in Weston-super-Mare, by Matt on Sept 8, 2015 17:07:43 GMT 1, I'm sure that Banksy was indeed referring to the super rich, but then you need to decide who gets to keep there inheritance or not which makes no sense.
It's an all / nothing idea, and I don't think it makes any sense.
As you say we live in a very unfair system, and it's not gong to et any better. Nevertheless I don't think forced redistribution has any chance of working, the problem lies in the initial distribution...
Anyways, back to art ?

Iยดm asking because the last train leaves at 11:15 thx in advance for your advice I imagine a taxi or Uber would be ridiculously expensive. I don't know if there's a bus but it would take a while... Better to find a hotel over night and get the train in the morning probably!

Logistical nightmare.
London is about 160 miles away so the cheapest option is definitely an overnight stay

Very pleasant hosts, cracking breakfast and within 5 minutes walk - everybody seems to stay in the main part of the town but don't think people realise how far a walk that is when you come out a bit pissed and it's freezing cold

BANKSY Curated Show "Dismaland" in Weston-super-Mare, by Alfonzo Conzeta on Sept 8, 2015 18:29:20 GMT 1, many thanx for your help and advice!!!
hire a car: No Go (my steering wheel is mounted on the wrong side ;-) and I`m not used to drive on the left side - especially during the night :-)
stay overnight: would be lovely, definitively! - but I have to cath my esayjet flight in the morning (LND GTW)
train: too early at 23 p.m.
I think I check the bus option... ...3 a.m. sounds not too bad
let`s see

btw - the 3am coach from Weston is very unlikely to arrive in London before about 7:30 - 8am - they are not the fastest and there will typically be at least one possibly 2 stops en-route

BANKSY Curated Show "Dismaland" in Weston-super-Mare, by bob978 on Sept 8, 2015 21:15:55 GMT 1, Yes!!! Finally got my flight ticket for Bristol next week, from Italy!!! 17th seems a good day for a visit to Dismaland...if I'm lucky with the tickets tomorrow!!!
Sorry guys, I'm pretty sure you already discussed here, but going back for 101 pages of posts to find an answer seems too much. Just a question: if I get the 11am or 2pm ticket, can I stay inside until the end of the day or I have to leave before the 7pm entrance? Thanks for any help!!

Looks like my prediction on 102 pages in this thread was a trifle conservative.
Although I did make it way back on page 1 in late July...

Looks great Coach. I love the Boxer.
Thank you for the inspiration and a big thank you to the forum member who sorted me out with a balloon. Had some fun with my daughter tonight with something for her room (yet to be hung/suspended).
First we found an old piece of MDF and cut the outline with a jigsaw.
The made some mess with some black paint.
Finally carefully stuck the balloon to the MDF.
We plan to flush mount it to the wall.

BANKSY Curated Show "Dismaland" in Weston-super-Mare, by Coach on Sept 9, 2015 0:00:23 GMT 1,
Looks great Coach.ย I love the Boxer.
Thank you for the inspiration and a big thank you to the forum member who sorted me out with a balloon.ย ย Had some fun with my daughter tonight with something for her room (yetย to be hung/suspended).
First we found an old piece of MDF and cut the outline with a jigsaw.
The made some mess with some black paint.
Finally carefully stuck the balloon to theย MDF.
We plan to flush mount it to the wall. ย
Great work H. Looks fab!!
