BANKSY Curated Show "Dismaland" in Weston-super-Mare, by Forbidden Love on Aug 31, 2015 17:37:34 GMT 1, Hate to disappoint you but it's a bast/insect stall Well to be technical, yes the Bast/Insect team designed the characters and some aspects of the game booth but it's safe to assume they did not purchase or were responsible to supply the "bling" to be given away. I'd say the Bling was a "Dismaland" product and just as much "Banksy" as anything else given away ย
Banksy bast and insect are all the same people? Are they not? Or have I said too much?

BANKSY Curated Show "Dismaland" in Weston-super-Mare, by nipper on Aug 31, 2015 21:09:02 GMT 1, Went today. A wonderful 5 hours. You can stay as long as you like as far as I could tell. Got tickets off Journs - thanks. No checks except bags and scan of barcode.
It's getting hard to win anything though. Hit some cans but no bling. Girl at the ducks took against me trying to cheat by wrapping strung round and made sure I could not hook a duck at all even though I tried for 10 minutes. All good fun and it entertained onlookers. Sadly no fish finger for me.
Got a balloon early on but it came off the string and soared away over the beach. Haha. After the first lot the guy selling said for sale to children only. He even said no to some young teenagers. I still have the string though obviously....
Everything else available as before to seems save for out of Ad Space packs ( I got the last one which was the display pack hanging mostly out of sight) and didn't see any flourescent waistcoats.
Juxtapose is on sale in the gift shop for ยฃ8 and they had about 8 Cauty shields on display.
Big queues up until 2pm and then thinned out considerably and everyone seemed to be watching the films. No need to queue all round the park early to get into the castle. Just have a beer and relax until the queues dissipate.
Enjoy.

BANKSY Curated Show "Dismaland" in Weston-super-Mare, by lynolush on Sept 1, 2015 0:01:53 GMT 1, Evening all .... we went last night and again today and had a wonderful time. Completely different experience day and night. The people working there are truly amazing and so so funny. We tried being witty and fun with them and had some great 'dismal' interaction.
We were really lucky and managed to get balloons by asking a 10 year old to hand the money to the guy. Apparently only selling to kids now. We only saw the guy come out three times during the day today and sold about 8 balloons at a time. So dead lucky to get them.
We also hassled the guy on the bling spray can stall by just making up ridiculous stories why we deserved the wonderful bling . He got totally annoyed with us hassling him and in the end gave all of us the bling we wanted even though we never hit a spray can. This was late last night. We got a diamond crusted baseball , a diamond batman symbol and fantastic hand gun .... We also went back today and pretended it was my birthday and after spending a fiver he reluctantly gave me a diamond dollar chain....so my tip is be creative and just mess with the staff and you can get stuff that way .
Hope this helps other forum members . Also nice to meet another forum member pistol at the grim reaper by complete chance.

BANKSY Curated Show "Dismaland" in Weston-super-Mare, by ashrx on Sept 1, 2015 9:18:38 GMT 1, Guys sorry if i'm being lazy, I read 4 pages and couldn't find the info I wanted so thought I'd reply... I want to go next Friday eve or Sat day. Firstly if anyone has tickets please shout me and secondly can I just queue up, is it likely we'd get in? I'd hate to end up walking around Weston instead of seeing the exhibition as I F'd up the tickets.
Cheers,

BANKSY Curated Show "Dismaland" in Weston-super-Mare, by smishdown on Sept 1, 2015 10:51:40 GMT 1, Had an awsome day yesterday and hats off to all the staff, they were brilliant and definatley made it an experience I won't forget. Especially on hook the duck stall, after strangling the duck twice with the rope they gave in and gave me a fish finger (thrown on the floor) by that time I had an audience and the whole thing seemed to be a theatrical piece. Me an my missus won some bling (little tip: don't shoot the cans, actually shoot the bling off the cans or shelf, there's normally only a couple of pieces to get so pick wisely) Managed to get a ballon for my 2 year old which he loved. Stand out piece for me was James cauty's miniature model, felt rushed around it though which was a shame. I'm sure there is loads I missed as a 2 year old and queues don't go together but had a great day. Highly recommended.

BANKSY Curated Show "Dismaland" in Weston-super-Mare, by Agent Provocateur on Sept 1, 2015 11:49:20 GMT 1, Got a balloon early on but it came off the string and soared away over the beach. Haha. After the first lot the guy selling said for sale to children only. He even said no to some young teenagers. I still have the string though obviously.... Is it just me picturing the image of a dark and disturbing girl guy with balloon scene reenactment!?
An AP version of course as it was a black balloon.

BANKSY Curated Show "Dismaland" in Weston-super-Mare, by oldschoolbmx on Sept 1, 2015 12:34:12 GMT 1, Went Sun night and Mon morning with my 6yr old son. Loved it. The gallery space being the highlight for me.And the lad working on the golf. One thing that has stuck with me is the atmosphere there. So strange, dismal yet people having a good time. Now I have a confession so here seems a good place. I may have gone a bit far on the duck in the muck stall. Got there and got told off for winding the string round (although half was already done) got close a couple of times and she kept knocking it over all light hearted. Now this is the bad bit. As she kept knocking em over I grabbed a bag when she wasn't looking. Only when my lad mentioned it she noticed it. This is when she said shall I call security I realised she wasn't messing about anymore. wtf I felt so ashamed I was basically stealing in front of my son. For what a bit of cardboard in a bag. It's the memory I have of the place now. On the upside my lad won some bling. Oh and go up to the bar and operate the puppets. Just don't get carried away on duck in the muck. I feel better now I've confessed! And if the girl operating the stall reads this. Sorry.

Don't beat yourself up over it too much. We're all capable of making mistakes or errors of judgement from time to time. It's easy to get caught up in the atmosphere of Dismaland, and probably not helped by the staff cheating you (in a friendly manner) at every turn.
The main thing is, your child appears to know right from wrong and you didn't compound your momentary mistake by trying to outrun security.
They say that confession is good for the soul though. So your feelings of guilt and subsequent honesty on here should be recognised and serve as a lesson for all of us, should we also find ourselves tempted to grab a cardboard fishfinger one day.
I think of Dismaland as a bit like that island from Lost. We're all drawn to it, challenged by it, face many perils, strange animals, dangerous terrain, some of us leave and then return, some may be killed by a smoke monster, but mostly I think that it has lessons for all of us. It can educate us and make us examine both ourselves and the world around us. You'll learn from this experience and move on from it.
Say 12 hail Marys and count your blessings.
