Top pickup of 2014, by Deleted on Dec 29, 2014 18:01:55 GMT 1, For me its a toss up between my Curiot original and Banksy grannies. I absolutely love the Curiot and am ecstatic with it. But, I wanted a Banksy since the early 00's and got my first this year. What is the little green box please?, is it an ammo box?.

More pics please.
And speaking of derailed... Can't wait to pick up my Sweet Toof orig from the Derailed show but won't be for a few weeks (thus 2015). I'm guessing it'll be two years running that I'm picking up my fave piece of the year in January.
Happy New Year everyone.

I am not in any way saying that you have sold or sell stolen goods but when I was looking at buying some backdoor rats I recall that you have sold two. From what I could make out these are v rare.

Yeah, it's an ammo box. There are a ton of them around the city, I think I paid $10 for it and it holds my Xbox games haha

Earlier in the thread you said all backdoor prints are stolen. I was looking to buy but have been incredibly put off with all this talk of them being stolen and the fact is it was a long time ago - isn't it more likely that the ones around now have been recently printed. I am guessing you would know more than most. Thanks

And the All time classic Faile Dog it needs a re frame but just glad to have it on the wall.

If someone really likes and artists work I don't get why they would buy prints that were stolen from them. They will be worthless in the future when the story can't be checked so the thief mugged off banksy and the last person left with the backdoor print that paid money for it.

You will not find a reputable signature expert that will put their name against authenticating a stolen print, it's not worth their risk getting sued. That's why the experts don't authenticate basquiat artwork anymore because they get sued by the estate.

Precisely, this salesman's idea and patter that somewhere down the line there'll probably be an authentication board looking at signatures "so don't worry, everything is legit and above board with these stolen backdoor works, show me the money". It's a nonsense and buyers should steer well clear. Gift prints with clear provenance are fine. If your provenance stops at the "backdoor" or in other words "with the thief", then you're basically screwed. It's indefensible in the industry and only tolerated because Banksy is incognito. If it was Sickboy or any other artist it would simply not be on.

Passed on CH's unveiling on the same basis - as one should.
