Kaws 4ft, by jmn09003 on Jun 22, 2015 6:29:02 GMT 1, can anyone tell if this KAWS 4FT is legit or not? please help me figuring it.
www.flickr.com/photos/132478747@N08/
It is my friend's 4ft and I'm suspicious about its legitimacy..my friend is a second owner so he wants a clear answer from many others... hope its legit really Inside the box, there are 4 pieces of styrofoam and all other parts look good to me. but his mouth and those printings on XX s are the point we think suspicious

Kaws 4ft, by Happy Shopper on Jun 22, 2015 13:16:23 GMT 1, It does look a little suspect. Face doesn't quite look straight on the head, and painting a bit wobbly. From what I've heard the real ones are quite heavy too, while the fakes are light. But without a comparison, that's hard to tell I guess! And real ones should have a holographic label with them, which I believe would have been stuck on the packaging somewhere

Kaws 4ft, by covertshadowops on Jun 23, 2015 17:29:59 GMT 1, on the real KAWS 4 fters, when you open the styrofoam, to reveal the toy, i think its top or bottom corner, indented slightly into the foam, is the black, hologram / COA from medicom. its credit card size, and sealed in a plastic wrapper.
if there is not one of these... then i guess it is fake.
i dont have my authentic 4 fters anymore, but i remember them all having 1 stuck to the styrofoam.

Kaws 4ft, by Inknart on Jun 23, 2015 18:18:25 GMT 1, It doesn't scream fake to me. A lot of the fakes have leg problems. You can pull them up on ebay and you'll notice bootlegers have had a lot of trouble getting the feet to nearly touch. Lighting always makes these look suspect. Also keep in mind the painting ont the 4's are a lot different from the small figures. They're far from perfect on all the fine details which are hand done, not one is perfect. If you're looking for a perfect 4' you might as well never buy one, they don't exist, they all have manufacturer flaws, blemishes, ect. The styrofoam should be 2 pieces if he has the box. The certificate is all great, but it's just a piece of paper that is a disclaimer basically. In no way is it a signed, numbered COA. Labiology JUST released their 4' Regular Bootleg a couple months ago. Theres are pretty terrible from what i've heard, and if this is your friend and he's had it for even a year I would presume it is the real deal. I've also heard, but cannot confirm that the fakes do not have the Medicom stamped on the foot?
All this being said. A couple of pictures that stand out to me on this would be the buttons, they don't look very conformed or rounded. Also, the color between the legs and upper body appear to be the same, could be the lighting. The real Brown version has slightly different colored legs than the upper body.

What does DM stand for? At first I thought it was a typo for PM But I'm noticing it too often to be a typo.

Direct message or just leave a comment on his Instagram photo telling him to contact you. Either way he's pretty quick with his responses and knows numerous people who own 4fts that maybe you can reference with.

Yes, upper body should be very different to be honest, take a look at the 16" version for reference. If he got it this year, there is always a good chance it could be fake. Like I stated, labiology just released theirs this year. I'm not sure about the difference I haven't seen someone post pictures of the fake. Be careful out there!

Kaws 4ft, by cre8 on Sept 26, 2015 7:03:59 GMT 1, The companion doesn't look legit to me. The Color seems wrong. There should be 4 white inner foam that comes with the companion accompanied by a medicom paper. The inner foam should have different lengths between the upper and lower foams. Do you have pictures of the foam?
